"The Good Stuff"

Hey guys!

Country Music Month is here! I would've posted yesterday, but family stuff kept me, so alas, you shall have to make due with only today. Anyways, I would ordinarily write about a movie (recently saw Bride Wars, Star Wars I-III, and a few others), but since it's finally August, the month we've all been waiting for (or at least you who enjoy country music lol), I'll humor you and give you the music I promised.

Here goes nothin! Oh, and as per usual, the music and the video don't belong to me. I don't usually play country music, I don't usually sing it, up until recently, I generally did my best to avoid it... But what with a recent huge project going on and it being my family's only music of choice (I'm not kidding. It's either country or classical, and as much as I love classical, it just doesn't have lyrics), I've been exposed to a lot of it, so I'll let my blog reflect what I've been through this past month or so lol.

"The Good Stuff" by Kenny Chesney

This is one of my favorite Kenny Chesney songs. It just kinda reminds me that even if you have a fight with someone you love, are you really willing to give up your entire past because of it? Or are you gonna kiss and make up? Basically a sweet song that reminds of that oh so nice second option.

The way I see it, if you gotta listen to country, Kenny Chesney is pretty much the way to go. He's got a great voice. But... As always, I'm up for variety, so you can probably expect some Garth Brookes, Brad Paisley, and Carrie Underwood. I'm trying to steer clear of Miley Cyrus, she gets enough hype already, but we'll see how that one turns out.

"All At Once"

Picked another random song today, I dunno, I kinda like it. I usually replace "her" with "him" when I sing it lol but yeah. I imagine this sort of thing happens every day, which kinda sucks. It's true, perfection isn't going to come, so maybe the next best thing really is that friend of yours who grew out of cooties and sometimes makes you get the tummy flips (in a good way, not sick) and shows off for you or whatever. Never know until you try I guess.

No Reservations

The other day I saw a romance entitled No Reservations.

It's about a woman whose job is her life. Literally. Nothing else truly matters. She doesn't see family very often, she's not dating anyone, the only thing that matters is that table 5's steak is rare enough, or that her special saffron sauce is perfect.

She's the head-chef at a very fancy restaurant.

And her employer is angry with her because she takes everything regarding her food personally, and has been known to react violently, so she's sent to a therapist. ...Who she cooks for while they're on the clock. Seriously, food is her life.

One day, her sister calls and lets her know that she and her daughter are on their way over to visit from a long ways away. They agree to meet up at 9 that night, since the chef is working the dinner shift as always.

During the dinner rush, she gets a phone call. She's busy putting something together, so she asks her assistant to answer with instructions to remind her sister that they planned on meeting at 9, and she can't come earlier. Unfortunately, her sister is not on the other end of the phone.

The chef rushes to the hospital to see that, instead of her sister and her niece being in a room with two beds, there is only one bed. Only one reason to have a bed. Only one survivor. Her niece looks up at her and asks if her mom died. She requested a straight answer, but found it out for herself.

The girl is now her responsibility. She goes home, leaving her niece in the hospital, and we soon learn that her boss said that she had to take a few days off. No choice. So she cooks her niece a lunch of duck (or some other equally unusual thing for a 10 year old to enjoy), and comes to the hospital to find that she's not hungry. Which is understandable, but probably still stung.

She pays a visit to the restaurant to find that she's been temporarily replaced with a man who is her complete opposite. Opera music is playing, he's singing, he's wearing pajama pants and crocs, the entire kitchen is chillaxed, and they soon tense back up when they see her walking in the room.

Needless to say, she's pretty peeved.

Will this new chef exercise his apparent charm enough to get her to warm up to him? Or will the mutual visits to the freezer continue? And how will her niece react to the new guy? Do opposites really attract?

Considering the fact that it's a romance, it's not too hard to figure out how it will all end, but the middle parts... Now that's something else entirely.

Will her niece ever eat the gourmet food she specializes in? Who's going to watch the girl while her aunt is at work? Lunch until dinner is a long amount of time. What's it going to take to make head-chef realize that her new partner is actually worth the hassle?

I'll leave you guys to figure that out if you like.

As with everything else, the movie doesn't belong to me. I wasn't an actress, I wasn't a writer, I wasn't the costume designer, I played no part in the creation of the movie, therefore, don't give me credit.

Today has been... wonderful. I woke up bright and early, listened to good music (including several songs from a few of my favorite bands) while working, and this song struck me as beautiful. I hope you guys don't mind that I'm doing another song by David Crowder Band, but I just can't help it! I've held it off as long as I could, but I heard it twice today so far and several times this past week, and... yep. Love it. Hope you guys enjoy! But if not, I'm open to suggestions, so write me something in the comment box!

By the way, this song doesn't belong to me anymore than Scooby Doo belongs to the bad guy. It just doesn't happen.

Anywho, this is basically just me saying I'm back from my brief hiatus. Had some issues with my computer... Mostly that it was running so slowly I could barely type anything up for you guys, much less actually get my work done. That's what happens when you've had it for two years and never do any real clean up work on it; getting rid of temporary files and whatnot. Blech.

Well, I'm up and running again, all is well, and I hope you like the music I pick out! If something looks interesting, look it up! Find it on Napster or someplace and check out the free trial. Or just listen to the radio for hours until it pops up! Lol your choice.

Hey guys, country month countdown is at one week! Now I know not everybody likes the stuff, but don't worry, we'll come back to the regular schedule in October. Til then though, I saw Stardust a little bit ago, and this song was in the ending credits (great movie, btw). This song doesn't belong to me either. Very much not mine.

Now I personally love this song, I donno... It's just got this beauty to it that I can't resist. That happens sometimes. If I'm listening to or watching or reading something beautiful, or am just really happy, I get this shiver up my spine and I just love it.

But... it sounds kinda weird when I sing it, due to the fact that it is clearly a love song to a girl, and I *am* a girl. I'd rather sing a love song to a boy lol, so... I decided to experiment with maybe turning it into a duet (it wasn't one when I started) so the stuff in blue lettering is for a guy to sing, the stuff in red is for a girl, and purple is both.

I may have to snag a guy from somewhere and have him sing it with me lol but until then, it's all just experimental. Song still doesn't belong to me, no matter how beautiful I may find it.

Anyways, if you happen to attempt my experiment before I get the chance to, let me know how it turned out, or if any of the cues need to be switched around and stuff. And don't worry, hopefully I'll find myself a guy who doesn't mind singing pretty soon and I can try it out for myself, I'll tell you how it turns out, but until then, feel free to try it out.

How It Should Have Ended

Hey guys, I was browsing my favorites panel yet again, and I came across HISHE. Haven't gone to that page in awhile, so I went and checked it out to see if they had updated.

How It Should Have Ended is a website that is exactly what the title states, it's suggesting different ways for movies to end. Most of them are funny, some are dorky, and there are a ton of awesome quotes. They're all YouTube clips, by the way, but the links are in the site.

I'm pretty sure LC said her favorite was the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory one, either that, or Beowulf, and mine's the Superman one, but just about all of them are pretty awesome. You may have to check out their YouTube page to see them all, they changed a few things around and I haven't gotten a chance to really explore the HISHE page again.
