Sketches and Star Trek. ...Sorta.

Hmm... What to post, what to post...

I'm seriously inspiration-less... this hasn't happened in awhile. Let's see...

I've decided that I'm best at drawing animals and people due to my recent ability to sketch decent pictures of my cat Dixie and Alton Brown, while not doing so good at sketches of random objects, i.e., a telephone. ...If you don't know who Alton is by the way, watch Good Eats on The Food Network. Excellent TV host. Why'd I sketch *him* of all people, you ask? Well my fellow TV-watcher left the room with the show on pause and he had an interesting face on freeze-frame that I had to capture. Yeah, she was kinda peeved that she had to wait 20 minutes or so for the show to start back up since I wasn't yet finished... but it turned out pretty good and she got over it XD.

...I really need to draw people I actually know.

On another note, I feel I oughtta let you guys know that my review for Star Trek is probably way off considering I'm not a Trekkie by any stretch of the title. My grandma is, she loves sci-fi. I do too, I just don't know much about Star Trek. So I'm sorry, but my review is probably worthless due to my complete and utter lack of history with the series.

...Except when I was about 6 and watched it with grandma while she was crocheting...

But I can tell you that that movie was pretty darn cool. I'm guessing it's a good intro to the series (guessing being the operative word here). I learned a lot of stuff about it, like who Spock and Kirk are, where "Live long and prosper" came from, and where I had heard the phrase "Beam me up, Scottie!" several years ago. Also, I think I got a whole new appreciation for Marvin from Daddy Day Care.

Overall, twas a good movie that I'm gonna have to watch with my grandma when it comes out on DVD. I'll see what her opinion is and perhaps write a more informed and better review for you guys. As is, this one kinda stinks. I'd move on to something from Marvel... but I'm kinda outta time.
